John Deere has announced that it is introducing a new family of rotary cutters with a variety of working widths and configurations. Customers can now use these rotary cutters to more efficiently mow grass, pastures, CRP land, road sides, parks and crop stalks.

The lineup includes the E, M, and R-Series and replaces existing John Deere MX, HX and CX Flex-Wing Rotary Cutters. The E-Series includes a new 12-foot E12 along with a 15-foot E15. The M-Series has an M15 (15-foot) and an M20 (20-foot). The top-end R-Series has a 10-foot size, as well as an R15 (15-foot) and R20 (20-foot) model.

"The all-new cutting chamber has been designed from the ground up to control air flow under the deck," explains Cristina Guzman, marketing representative for John Deere. "This improves cutting performance and cut material distribution from below the deck while reducing material accumulation on top of the cutter deck." A larger volume cutting chamber improves cutting quality when operated at today's desired higher ground speeds.

A new suspended front mount also improves machine stability by isolating the movement of the cutter deck relative to the tractor, and vice versa. This reduces stress on the machine while providing a more comfortable ride for the operator. A new torsional rear suspension system is an option for the M Series and is included the R Series. It further improves machine stability while improving cutting height.
